A Little More About My Uncle

After getting my previous post up, I was made aware of Fred’s obituary in the New York Times and a video tribute that some of his friends from the chorus put on on YouTube.

(Added note, on 11/18: I had wondered a bit about Fred’s off-key singing in part of the video. At his funeral, we were told by members of the chorus that it was taken from his performance at the chorus’ “No-Talent Show” party. I knew that there had to be a reason.…)

What a touching video, and obituary. I’m so sorry for your loss, Mark. Thank you for sharing your uncle’s extraordinary story. He was quite a man.

Thanks, Janey. Indeed he was. In a way, this blog is kind of my way of following in his footsteps, trying to help those who have suffered a loss know that there is a way through it, and that it’s OK to have the feelings that they’re experiencing.
