After yesterday’s semi-scheduled RD [rest day], tonight wasn’t looking good. My stomach felt like there was a huge rock sitting in it, and I really did not feel up to running on the dreadmill (no way I was going outside in those temps and that wind chill). My wife suggested that I walk instead of running, so since I was already dressed to run, I went down to the basement with the intention of doing maybe 30-40 minutes of walking. I ended up doing 4 miles in an hour flat, and I felt quite a bit better afterward. My stomach still isn’t wonderful, but it was quiet enough to let me walk for an hour.
With the weather looking crappy over the weekend (snow all day Saturday–2-4 inches–and Sunday morning), I’m not sure how I’m going to do my long run yet, since I really can’t see doing 5 miles on the treadmill, but we’ll see how it goes.
